nomadology

There are certainly others who can be seen as antecedents such as Nietzsche, but undoubtedly, we owe a great debt to Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari for transforming our understanding of nomadism, and “nomad thought”. The effect on epistemology of Deleuze and Guattari’s work on nomadalogy, especially in A Thousand Plateaus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia, is nothing less than a mini thermonuclear explosion in my opinion.  Then there is historian Arnold Toynbee whose classification of civilisations, how deficient it may be, paid a significant amount of attention to nomadism. I am hoping to collect my thoughts on nomadism in this blog, starting with “Göbekli Tepe: first came the temple, then the city walls – Part 1“.
